Site Management Safety Training Scheme (Online)

This course will be conducted through video conferencing. It facilitates interactive two-way communication, allowing delegates to ask questions. Each attendee must have a webcam and microphone for identity verification and the ability to respond to examination questions.

Who is this course for 

This course will provide delegates in a Project / Site Management role with essential knowledge and understanding on responsibilities and accountability for site safety

The course addresses all pertinent legislation and factors influencing safe practices in the building, construction, and civil engineering industries. Emphasizing the importance of workplace risk assessment, the course guides participants in implementing necessary control measures and fostering effective communication to uphold a health and safety culture among the workforce. Ultimately, this training equips candidates to manage on-site health and safety in alignment with existing legal provisions within the scope of their management or supervisory roles.

Aim 

The course aims to help site managers to

Entry requirements 

Delegates should hold, or be about to hold, the role of a site manager

Previous health and safety knowledge is recommended

Those without previous health and safety management experience are recommended to sit the two-day SSSTS course.

Delegates must be competent in written and spoken English necessary for operating efficiently at site management level

Please Note: The minimum age of attendance for this course is 16 years old, however delegates who are under the age of 18 must bring a completed parental consent form to the first day of the training course.

Duration 

This is a five-day course. Delegates are required to complete the full course (37.5 hours) to be eligible for certification

Training & Assessment Methods 

Online classroom-based tutorials will complement group discussions, exercises, and case studies, with an additional component of home study for delegates to fulfill

Delegates will be continuously assessed during the course in preparation for the final examination, and must achieve

Reisits: If a delegate has: completed the four core exercises, and passed the trainer’s review, and gained between 72%–78% in the exam, then they may re-sit the examination one further time. The re-sit may take place on the same days or within 90 days (in agreement) If a delegate fails the re-sit, they must take the full SMSTS course again. When a delegate scores less than 69%in the final exam, the delegate must attend the full SMSTS course again at expense before they are permitted to re-sit the exam

Upon success completion of the SMSTS online course, delgates will achieve a CITB accredited Site Management certificate which is valid for five years.

Please note, CITB no longer produce physical certificates, all certificates are produced digitally and sent to DSG Academy within 28 working days of the end of the course, and will then be sent to the delegate

Grants and Funding 

DSG Academy is an Approved Training Organisation (ATO) with CITB, allowing employers to claim grants for completing training on our registered courses. The CITB levy and grants scheme has been introduced to ensure the UK construction industry has the skilled workforce that it needs; providing grants for employers to train their workers. This helps to maintain health & safety standards on construction sites, keeping the right skills available for the industry to grow. In turn this will allow projects to be completed on time and within budget, in a safe and sustainable manner.

AdditionAL information 

  • Please inform us if you have any serious health issues, physical problems or are taking any medication which may create difficulties in undertaking elements of this training course
  • Identification will be checked prior to starting the course and the examination
  • The examination will be carried out through an examination paper and is subject to invigilation
  • Delegates who do not complete the full tuition time will not be issued with a certificate and will be charged in full
  • Failure to meet any of these site requirements will result in the course being cancelled and charged in full
  • All prices shown are subject to VAT
  • The training grant aid is provided in accordance with the current CITB grants scheme
  • Employers are able to claim grants if they have sent a Levy Return to CITB by 30th November each year (where applicable).
