Our Managing Director Tim O Sullivan took part in the Big Rail Diversity Challenge organised by Women in Rail and Nimble Media Ltd as a part of Skanska IP Central team – ‘Team Euston: We Have A Problem’.

The aim of the event was to promote gender diversity in the workplace by improving balance, diversity and inclusion. The day consisted of team building and fundraising while taking part in fun gender balanced challenges.

Attended by our site staff and Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager Ruairí Coffey, E.D.W.A.R.D – Every Day Without a Road Death, the main event showcased some of the most innovative technology coming into the industry to protect both workers and the public from our activities.

The most impactful part of the day was guest speaker Kate Cairns. Kate is the founder of the See Me, Save Me campaign to improve vehicle safety and shared the story of her sister who was tragically killed by an HGV whilst cycling, and why the vehicle safety measures we implement across our industry are so important. A moving and tragic story, it highlighted the standards we must work towards to ensure everyone goes home safely every day.
